Intermediate Wind Group:
Thank you to those of you who gave up your Saturday afternoon recently to take part in Judith’s Charity Concert at Rood Lane Methodist Church to help raise funds for the CyberKnife, which is a special piece of equipment used in the treatment of cancer. The concert raised over £200 for the Charity. Well done everyone !
Training Groups Presentation:
This will take place on Saturday 3rd July at 12.30pm and will be a short presentation for parents of the musicians involved. Tea and biscuits will be provided. This will be the last session for these groups. Diane Walton, our Recruitment Officer, will then advise parents what will happen at the start of the September term. If the musicians do not wish to continue playing, then the instrument should be handed back to the Secretary.
Saturday 10th July
Because this is just one week before our end of year Concert, Eddie has decided that there will be a rehearsal for the Senior Orchestra ONLY . Other groups will not be rehearsing.
Resignation of Assistant Wind Tutor:
It is with regret that we recently received Anna Chappel’s resignation as Assistant Wind Tutor after being with the CYO since it was formed some 16 years ago. She will be moving out of the immediate area shortly and is unable to continue with her commitments. She hopes to maintain contact with CYO, helping out at Concerts from time to time. We wish her all the very best.
Fundraising Lunch at Smallwood Village Hall:
Judith Hearson’s parents and helpers have very kindly offered to hold one of their fundraising lunches in aid of the CYO on 12th September. Judith will soon be asking some Senior Members if they can spare some time to “wait on” at the tables. Please help if you can, as this event raised over £1,000 towards CYO funds last time it was held.
