Congleton Carnival – 19th July 2008
Those of you who are taking part in this event, please meet at the Band Stand in Congleton Park at 12.30pm. We will be playing the first session from 13.00hrs – 13.20 hrs and the second session from 14.30 – 14.50. So you should be finished by 15.00hrs, unless the schedule gets amended slightly. Entry to the Carnival is free of charge and so your family and friends may like to come along to cheer you on.
Garden Party – Sunday 27th July 2008 – Buglawton:
This event is in aid of Cancer Research / local Churches / Children of Romania.
If parents wish to attend this event the cost is £15.00 for lunch (performers’ free of charge) details and tickets available from Douglas Parker (tel: 07767 817170). Those taking part will need to arrive by 13.30pm and will be playing intermittently until approx.14.30pm. A map will be provided for those taking part. For performing, the C.Y.O. will receive a donation to go towards the German tour.
Recording of Rotary Concert – 12th April (Trinity):
Beckie Morley recorded this concert for us and C.D’s are now available (for a donation). Any monies raised will go towards the Germany funds. £55.00 has been raised so far.
Orchestral Representative:
As you all know, Beckie is leaving to go to University this year and so a vacancy will arise for the orchestral representative position on the Committee. Who do you think you would like to represent you next year ? Beckie will be able to give you some idea of what goes on. Nominations will need to be given to Helen by the end of September. The person elected will be your voice on the committee, so they need to be good at talking !! You never know what you can do until you try. Have a go - we don’t bite !!!
Another year has come and gone and we say goodbye to more of our friends: Emily Nurse / Beckie Morley/ Richard Patterson / Tony Boardman and James Worrall. We wish them all well and hope that they return to perform with us often.
Have a good rest during the summer, and we look forward to seeing you all refreshed and ready to wow the audiences again in September !
Eddie, Judith, Wanda and Helen.
