We have a great time on Saturday mornings.

During the morning drinks and biscuits are on sale, when Eddie stops waving his baton at us !

Eddie, Judith and Wanda are nice to work with and they teach us a lot, but we have a laugh with them as well.

There is a really friendly atmosphere which is nice.

We are waiting to meet new members

Why don't you join !

You will be glad that you did !

..............................Leader's View of the Tour...............................

"Following the success of the Spring Concert on Saturday 31st March at Congleton High School, the musicians of the orchestra had packed their bags, checked their instruments and were gathered in Congleton at 11.30pm the following Sunday, waiting to depart for their first European tour to Germany. In their new European uniform of maroon T-shirts and fleeces, complete with the CYO logo, they said their goodbyes and boarded the coach, heading for Dover and the Ferry that would take them to their destination.

Arriving at Traben Trarbach in the Mosel region in West Germany at 5.30pm, the musicians were greeted by the hotel staff with an evening meal and a chance to relax in their rooms. Up bright and early the next day, the group departed for the nearby town of Cochem. After an energetic hill walk, they arrived at Cochem Castle and had a personal tour around the castle. Dividing in groups, the musicians wandered around the picturesque town and enjoyed some free time to browse. The first concert that night was well received, with gifts of wine being presented to the Committee from the hosts.

The second day started with free time around the spa town of Bad Neuenahr, before an afternoon concert in the Kurpark. On returning to the hotel, the musicians went to prepare themselves for the evening disco. After lots of exercise and laughter, the group were late to bed, tired but happy.

Despite the antics of the previous night, the group were up early on Thursday and headed for Siegfried's Mechanisches Musikkabinett. a museum in Rudesheim full of mechanical musical instruments, ranging from tiny music boxes and gramophones to a self-playing grand piano ! After some free time shopping around the town, the group partook of a river cruise on the Rhine.

That night the musicians produced the best concert they had ever played, which was very well received by the audience at Grosser Kursaal Bad Bertrich and the orchestra was presented with a picture depicting the date and place of the concert from their hosts. An impromptu disco at the hotel on our retun that night was the perfect end to a brilliant trip.

The group left Congleton on Sunday night at the beginning of April as an orchestra, but inwardly divided into different friendship groups; However, within 24 hours the group was united. The orchestra returned to England on Friday night tired, but with many stories, memories, photos and new friendships."
